Yog Vigyan is a lost knowledge from Ancient Indian Subcontinent, which has survived here and there through various traditions and communities. Modern day science, especially views from the Western world, is coming to terms gradually with the fact that modern science is ‘not that modern’. There have been very advanced societies in the past, and their knowledge and wisdom are still secretly surviving against countless attempts at degradation, and destructions by communities who tried to conquer over the present Indian lands for thousands of years. Not only have valuable information become lost, the ancient-modern knowledge which helped heal and bring peace was also lost. Knowledge such as Yog Vigyan, Siddha Medicine, Ayurvedic healing, and countless others, which are having resurgence.
The various teachers all across the globe are playing key roles in resurgence of Ancient Indian traditions and wisdom. Yog Vigyan synthesizes Western research with ancient Yogic knowledge and insight with academically inclined methods and rigorous approaches to train every student masterfully.
“Dr. Lad opened my eyes to the wisdom of Ayurveda and the potential it has to help people proactively manage their health and well-being. Being in his presence on a regular basis was illuminating and transformative. My time at the Ayurvedic Institute was instrumental in my own healing process and has deeply inspired my work in service to the ever-growing Ayurvedic community.”
Originating in the ancient Indus Valley, which is now modern-day India, Yog Vigyan represents a comprehensive science focused on achieving unity with life. It encompasses a wide array of practices, including self-healing, adopting a proper diet and nutrition, embracing a balanced lifestyle, engaging in meditation, mastering various postures, practicing breathing exercises, and utilizing medicinal herbs. Additionally, it incorporates cleansing and rejuvenation programs that aim to heal not only the body but also the mind and spirit. This truly holistic approach to wellness has endured for over 5,000 years (with some yogic traditions considering it even older), passing down through generations. As part of our present-day movement, we are dedicated to revitalizing this ancient knowledge and adapting it to contemporary living while ensuring its preservation for future generations.
Yog Vigyan teaches that the microcosm of human beings reflects the entire Universe. The ancient tradition views the universe as composed of five elements: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. Ayurveda combines these elements to form three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, which shape our individual constitutions. Balancing these doshas amidst changing times, seasons, and life phases promotes lasting well-being. Optimal health comes not from a pill but from daily habits—eating, breathing, moving, sleeping, and connecting with others. And Yog Vigyan tries to bring balance back to our life by providing fundamental understanding for life, based on which life can thrive.
